The Team : Team RLR MSport

The Team

Team RLR is based in Bolton, Lancashire and is an all-British squad led by team principal Nick Reynolds.

The Team

Its home city of Bolton already has strong links with Le Mans, having been twinned with the French city since 1973, and Team RLR wants to use this unique link to generate support locally as it takes on the challenge of endurance racing events across Europe.

Experienced sports car and historic F1 engineer Nick Reynolds' RLR Msport Ltd runs Team RLR's MG Lola EX265. Having specialised in the preparation of modern and historic sportscars and single-seaters with great success, the company is ideally suited to make the move into the highly competitive Le Mans Series.

Nick, along with Jason Longworth, is a founder member of RLR (Reynolds is the 'R' in 'RLR').  Nick started his career at Beecroft Racing Services (now Xero Competition) and became lead engineer at Chevron Racing where he worked as Chief Engineer for eight years.  During his career he has helped to design and build sportscars as well as engineering in a multitude of disciplines including: Caterham Championships, Formula Ford, TVR, Hillclimb, Renault Spider UK Championship, German Touring Car Championship (DTM), British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and Formula 3 (F3) as well as winning numerous historic championship titles such as the Orwell Supersports Cup and European Formula 2.

Jason Longworth has been working with Nick for a number of years and co-founded the company (Longworth is the 'L' in 'RLR').  Jason also started his engineering career at Beecroft Racing Services alongside Nick before doing stints as a freelance engineer for several teams, later rejoining Nick at Chevron Racing.  As well as designing and building racing cars he has also engineered cars in: British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), British GT, Grand Prix Masters and numerous historic championships such as VdeV Europe, European F2 & FIA Historic F1.

Team RLR's drivers include Barry Gates (2009 SPEED endurance racing Euro series winner), Rob Garofall (2009 SPEED endurance racing UK series winner) and Simon Phillips.

Team RLR’s long-term goal is to compete for honours in the Le Mans 24 Hours and bring through new British sportscar racing talent as the squad develops its presence in the Le Mans Series over the course of the next three seasons.
